Minhoon Kim presents 54 new works in his upcoming solo exhibition 𝑊𝑒𝑖𝑔ℎ 𝐴𝑛𝑐ℎ𝑜𝑟 (외양간). Moving beyond his existing three-dimensional practice, this exhibition expands the medium into post-documentary photography and sculptural experience. The exhibition title draws on the phonetic similarity between 외양간 — the ”cowshed“ of the Korean proverb, a space associated with loss — and the English phrase Weigh Anchor, meaning to raise anchor and set sail. In this pairing, the act of rebuilding at the site of loss and the sensation of beginning are held alongside one another. In the insistent work of erecting the other again from a collapse, one comes to see love as an arduous act: love as enduring a concrete subject with its flaws and volume, while holding within it a distance that never quite closes into oneness.
